2-23-19 The SRKWs Surprised Us Today

Saturday, February 23rd
...a surprise came over the Lime Kiln hydrophones today, in the form of Southern Resident orcas vocalizing and lots of echolocating...
...here's just a sampling of what could be heard over the Lime Kiln hydrophones this afternoon...
...and a few images of the afternoon...even though the whales were far offshore, knowing they are there and seeing their blows, in that lighting, was great and always is.
...just being in their presence gives me pause, all the troubles and worries of life are set aside for every single moment you get to stand there and see them...

...they are not here for our entertainment, they are here for food, let us pay attention to all our activities to make sure we are putting the whales and the needs for a healthy existence first and foremost...
...let the next generation have the gift of seeing these whales, and whatever else might give you pause for the moment...

2-20-19 Revisiting June 5 2016

THIS IS FROM 2016

...this morning, February 20, 2019, while searching for some audio information, I opened this video that I took in 2016.

...it remains pertinent...

...it brought tears to my eyes for all the struggles the SRKWs have been facing...and all the ways we humans have ignored what they have been telling us...
