4-1-18 Steller Sea Lions Hauled Out in an Unusual Location

Sunday, April 1st
...you never know what you will see when you are out on the sea...
...another opportunity to ride along on the Western Prince...

...it wasn't long before the T2Cs were seen - again!...there are several recent posts about the T2Cs...today...here is one fun one of T2C2...I like because of you can barely see the red legs of the Pigeon Guillemots...
...after spending some time watching the T2C family we headed over to Sentinel Rock, a place that is known as a harbor seal haul out...and what do we see?...

...it seems that this might have been the first time that Steller sea lions have been seen hauled out at Sentinel Rock!  We all were quite surprised!
There were some harbor seals at the other end of the rock and some on the other side.  Time will tell if this was a Steller sea lion April Fools joke on the humans!!

As we traveled along Spieden Island, the eagles were amazing...6 to 8 of them putting on a show and then splitting into pairs and then back to all of them looking like they were having 'social time'!
But this was my favorite...actually it was the tree that got my attention first...
...and zooming in for a closer look...
...later when I got home I heard the T2Cs on the Lime Kiln hydrophones...
