6-8-15 Rest First Play Later

Monday, June 8th
...and we got the play time!
...late in the day, out on Peregrine, we head over to Rosario Strait...word was that only the J16s were around...

...just behind the J16s in close as well was DoubleStuf and a couple others...

...one of the passengers spotted whales far from shore...it was the rest of J pod...

...they were being very social and goofing around...lots and lots of groups...

...DoubleStuf just couldn't seem to stop his high tail lobbing for a while!

...the whales passed Clark Island and this outcropping of rocks with seals, a gull, and a black oyster catcher...a busy little rock...

...when we left them they were heading up toward the Sandy Pt. area on the mainland side...that is where there is talk of a coal port, in this area?...in these waters?...that's just plain wrong!
