9-4-16 A Day Full of Whales

Sunday, September 4, 2016
...fish sounds! (burps) over the hydrophones! wow! that got me out the door fast...I wanted to see what might be going on...but it was only about 6:45...glad I did...whales coming up island!
...Tsuchi J-31 was the first to pass by...then a few others...slowly moving up island...some foraging going on...they did not look committed to going north...
...Princess Angeline J-17 and J-53 passed by...
...then a male and juvenile begin to approach...who?...it was Solstice L-89 and 7 1/2 year old male, Moby J-44...
...all through the morning whales were moving about slowly...meandering I would call it...no direction...some foraging...spread far and wide...some went up island for a while coming back later in the morning...

...then the others who had been up north came down...

 ...
...after all the whales had gone down island...another short break and some whales began to come up island...it was Moby J-44 and his mom Princess Angeline J-17 and Moby's little sister, baby J-53...

...it was definitely a day full of whales :)
