"Jun 2, 2016 — Dear Supporters,
In 2014, an orca enthusiast, medical doctor and advocate for breaching the lower Snake River dams met with President Obama and inquired with him about breaching these dams using an Executive Order. This gracious man presented Obama with a packet of information on the issue of Snake dam breaching and the necessity to do this now in order save endangered Columbia/Snake salmon, thus providing food for the endangered Southern Resident orcas. Obama had said that taking Executive Action was something he could do.

Fast forward to 2016 and this advocate is again meeting with our Commander-in-Chief. This time in the wake of a recent federal court ruling (fifth of it’s kind in two decades) which called for an overhaul of the Columbia and Snake river hydropower operation’s 2014 Biological Opinion. The judge again urged the feds to take a close look at the lower Snake river dams and their effects on salmon and steelhead.

In the coming weekdays, we must flood the White House with phone calls to show our overwhelming support for salmon and orcas. Please call 202-456-1111 and ask President Obama to breach the lower Snake river dams with an Executive Order. This is an opportunity for Obama to leave a political legacy in the American landscape and to solve this salmon recovery puzzle once and for all."
