12-24-2022 A Whale Hug in its Finest Form

This is from July 2010...yes, a long time ago.

But this is the best whale hug I've ever seen.

It was early on a July morning and what occurred was stunning.

Wishing you hugs in their finest forms.

12-19-2022 K & L Pods in the Night

It has been a reflective time. It has been a sad several days with the passing of Ken Balcomb.

I wondered what the whales might do when next seen.

I went to sleep early on December 19 and as usual I began recording the hydrophones. It was about 20 minutes later but I didn't know that until I checked the recording this morning (12-20). K and L pods were very vocal over the Lime Kiln hydrophones. I could hardly believe it but it was them. My guess is that they will be in Puget Sound this morning. My inner being wants to say they came in to honor Ken.

This is the same thing I posted on FB.
